SENTIERO

There was a time when the whole world seemed to stand still. We were isolated in the hills, imprisoned in a reality that was narrow to us, suspended between the walls of home and the restlessness of the future. It was at that time that we felt the need to create something of our own, something that would allow us to escape, not only physically but also mentally, from that isolation. Thus the idea of the trail was born.

Armed with rudimentary tools and an unwavering desire for freedom, we set out to dig, cut and clear the ground. Each day, step by step, we saw a path winding its way through the trees, a path that no one knew but us, emerge beneath our feet. That path was our creation, a secret route that led us from the backyard to the river, away from everything.

The path was our response to isolation, a symbol of our will to break out of the invisible prison that surrounded us. Each stroke of the spade, each branch cut, was a gesture of resistance, a step towards freedom. We had managed to create a way that was ours alone, a way that belonged to us and that no one could take away from us. This project, documented through my film, wants to share that feeling, that magic, that sense of conquest.

Because that path is not only ours, but of all those who seek a way out, a path that takes them beyond the visible, towards a freedom built with their own hands.
